This volume contains two-part settings (high/low voices) of the music for the Parastos service (Moleben/Panikihida) as typically sung in the Serbian Orthodox Church. Additionally, an appendix containing four-part bilingual SATB settings of the hymns commonly sung at the Pomen (short memorial service) is included at the end of the volume. Resources used for this volume include, but are not limited to, the Anthology of Serbian Chant (Resanovic, 2006) and Pravoslavno Crkveno Pjenije - Volume 1 (Kozobaric, 1935).

The two-part arrangements in this volume maintain a simplified lower voice which is largely that of a sustained tonic or dominant pitch with occasional elaborations.  As a convenience this lower part is notated in the treble clef together with the melody.  Although it is stylistically more suited to a Bass-Baritone voice, it may be sung by an Alto.  The upper voice —the chant— can be sung by either a Tenor, Baritone, Mezzo Soprano or a Soprano.   For consistency, the chants are all notated in the key of F major/minor.  They can be freely transposed to a suitable key/register as needed.  The Four part arrangements of the Kontakion and the hymns in the appendix are set in a traditional but simple, homophonic choral style.
